ABOUT ME
OH, WHO IS SHE?
I was born and raised in Denver, Colorado with my two older sisters by our mom and dad who encouraged our creative ideas and reminded us that we are capable of doing anything we set our minds to. When I was seven, my parents informed my sisters and me that we would be packing our things and moving to the sunshine state of Tampa, Florida. So, on a warm summer day, my middle sister and I packed our stuff in our minivan, and buckled ourselves in, as my dad prepared for the long drive from Colorado to Florida while my mom stayed back with my eldest sister to deal with the movers but they would join us soon enough. Our lives in Florida only lasted another four years before my middle sister and I were packing up our stuff again and trekking to the other side of the country but this time with our mom, to her home state, California! For another two years, we lived in northern California but we were never quite settled there; it didn't feel quite like home. So, like the previous six years, my middle sister and I packed up our things for a third time and drove down to sunny Orange County where I can happily say, we've been living since. And if you're wondering if I had a military parent, the answer is, no, I do not - just parents who were looking for the right place to settle down in. Imagine if Goldilocks had children and instead of looking for the right bed, she was looking for the right city to live in!

The reason for this long winded explanation for why I may or may not have stability issues isn't to tell you about myself. Rather, it's to exemplify where my love of writing and acting comes from! Since we moved around so much, most of that time was spent sitting in a car for long hours with nothing around us but freeways and vacant land so I had to get creative to pass the time somehow, right? And while that part is true, its not the only reason I found a comfort and safety in writing. Because we moved so much, I had to say goodbye to the community and stability I built in those places. Writing provided me with what I was missing and had to rebuild every few years of my life. These moves taught me the importance of loyalty and passion to aspects of my being that I would never have to say goodbye to. These cross-country moves exposed me to different experiences and cultures within this country that many people my age never had, which, in the long run, benefited my craft of storytelling.
In turn, it helped me grow not just as a person but also as a writer and storyteller. I was able to see the world from different lenses and create stories from those alternative views of community, but to also appreciate the meaning of that word on a deeper level. The saying, "You don't know what you have until it's gone," is true but what it fails to emphasize is the appreciation you have for what you were able to be part of. While my life seems like a complicated and intricate road map of instability, there is one thing that has stayed with me through it all: the art of storytelling.
There is so much more to my life's story than what has been typed here, so if there's any desire to know more about my work and how life has impacted my creativity, below you'll find my resume and a link to download it, if you wish!
